Eyelash extensions are just hands down one of the best things ever. They save you time and look way better than mascara. You can go to sleep looking great and wake up the same. Your clients will need to follow a few easy rules so that they can get the most out of their lashes.
1. SLEEP POSITION
Make sure your clients know to never ever sleep face down. They can wake up in the morning with gaps and a pillow full of your hard work. It is not even that the glue will loosen. While shuffling around there is the possibility that the client's actual lash will fall out taking the lash extension with it. They can purchase sleep masks made specifically for lash extensions that can help protect them.
2. NO NEED FOR MASCARA
Once your client has beautiful lash extensions there will be no need for mascara. One of the main reasons for getting lash extensions is to cut down your morning routine. The use of mascara will weaken the glue and natural lash when applying/removing mascara with wand. It is ok to give them a brush with a clean wand.
3. APPLY EYE CREAMS PROPERLY
Eye creams are great and everyone should be using them. If you get these products on your lashes it will weaken the adhesive. Let your client know to use extra care when apply lotions to avoid any contact with the lash.
4. CHOOSE A SUITABLE CURL
Everyone's lashes are different and unique. If your eyelashes are naturally straight, then straight lashes will hold in place better than those with a strong curl. As the eyelash professional, you know best, so discuss curl options and see how you can keep those lashes looking natural.
5. DO NOT TOUCH THEM
Your clients should keep their hands away from their eyes. Rubbing with hands or towels will shorten the lashes lifespan. Clients should also take extra care when applying makeup as to not come in contact with their new lashes.
Remember, the healthier and longer lasting your client’s extension set is, the more likely they will return to you and invest in keeping up with their lash extensions. You are with the client for approximately 1-3 hours, the other 300+ hours between fills are all them.
